Notes:

The prayer times are taken from www.moonsighting.com/pray.php using exact co-ordinates of CAIC

To learn how salah times are calculated www.moonsighting.com/how-we.html

*Asr start time is based on Shafi time whilst Asr Jamat time is in Hanafi time

^Hijri dates in the CAIC calendar are taken from the pre-calculated Umm-ul-Qura calendar. See https://www.al-habib.info/islamic-calendar/ummulqura/islamic-calendar-ummulqura-2021-ce.htm

Hijri dates based on local UK moonsighting can be checked here www.wifaqululama.co.uk/1442-2

Hijri dates according to www.moonsighting.com/calendar.html are pre-calculated based on FCNA (Fiqh Council of North America) criteria assumed to reflect the possibility of moon sighting (i.e. after new moon conjunction, somewhere in the globe, the angle between the sun and the moon should be at least 8 deg and moon should be at least 5 deg above the horizon).

7 Habits of Highly Effective Muslims

The Prophet SAW said,

"Verily, Allah has prescribed excellence in all things.

(Bukhari & Muslim).

As Muslims we must always aspire for excellence in everything we do! We must also develop good habits exhibited by our beloved Prophet (pbuh). In doing so, I fundamentally believe that we will be able to draw nearer to Allah Most High.

When we come to think of the word ‘effective’, we must recognise that this is essentially someone who has a positive and constructive effect on themselves and the wider society at large. Principally this is someone who is successful in their pursuit of a desired action and they are able to produce results.

“…And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.” (Surah Talaaq Verse 3)

As Muslims, this aim or purpose must be in compatibility with the moral and ethical teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah. This is exactly why we must also strive to be the best in everything we do. We have to be people of substance, quality and action! Allah commands this from us so trust in Him and know that He will take care of us Insha’Allah.

Below are the seven steps which I feel we can take lessons from:

Conclusion: In order to become highly successful and effective Muslims, we need to reflect upon our own life and see how many of these habits are already a part of who we are and how many we’ll need to further develop or acquire. In short, being able to develop these seven practical habits will help us to improve ourselves and work further towards emulating the life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and be the best that we can. I pray that Allah azza wa jal enables us to become highly effective Muslims. Ameen

Islam

Islam shares the same Abrahamic heritage as Judaism and Christianity and, therefore, espouses many similar beliefs and practices. Among them are belief in angels, prophets and scriptures and practices such as prayer, fasting and charity. Adherents are called “Muslims” and number over 1.7 billion. They pray to Allah, the same God Jesus worshipped. Jesus called God “Eloi” (Mark 15:34). But the difference is in language only. Hispanics call God “Dios”. French call God “Dieu”. Arab Jews and Christians call God “Allah”. But they're all the same God. Muslims believe God revealed the same general message to all true prophets but that message was changed over time. To correct these changes, God revealed His will a final time in the Qur'an and promised to preserve it.
